Code of conduct

Membership

In order to maintain a membership in good standing members will be held to the following code of conduct.

Every member has a responsibility to act ethically and legally and to be held accountable for their actions. We need to show respect to other members as well as to the community. We must adhere to any rules or regulations when using any space at our facility or other facilities we may work with.

Discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or age is illegal and will not be tolerated.

Inappropriate behaviors including but not exclusive to : drunkenness, offensive language, disrespect of others, abusive behavior etc. will not be tolerated.

We are responsible for understanding and adhering to this Code of Conduct. We are aware that any breach of this code of conduct may lead to action, up to and including termination of membership.

Further anyone who exhibits inappropriate behavior past or present may be denied membership or have membership revoked as determined by the board.

Meetings

Membership dues are $30 annually and grants voting privileges, the option to attend classes upon payment of required class fees and entry into juried and non-juried annual art league shows.

The Shelton Art League

Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month from September through June at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church Street, Huntington, CT 06484. Whenever the center is closed on a third Monday, the meeting shall be held on another Monday of that month as decided by the executive board. After the business meeting each month, a program is held on an art-related topic. Guest speakers who are experts in their field present the programs. Members often take part in workshops, where a specific art techniques is featured.  Individuals work on a project under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
